I am compiling a list of 52 ways to be frugal or save money in 2017. The plan is to post one each week on Friday. Most, if not all, of these tips will be things that we actually do. However, if there is an idea that you want me to share let me know!
#8- Haircuts at Home
This is something very valuable that I learned from my mom who always cut my dad’s and brothers’ hair. I have 3 boys and a husband who need a haircut every 4-5 weeks.
If a man’s haircut costs approximately $15 and children’s are about $12. This would cost us about $612 per year. Instead I purchased a hair clipper set for $30, 5 years ago! If I had to buy a new set of clippers for EVERY hair cutting session it would still be cheaper than going to a salon!
My daughter and I do go to a salon to get our hair cut but we still only go a couple of times a year 🙂
Running total of money saved:
Napkins – $18
Dryer Balls – $72
Cleaning Cloths – $84
Diva Cup – $23
Cleaning solutions – $24
HE washing machine – $210
Ditch the cable – $468
Hair Cuts at Home – $582
Total amount saved: $1,481
We are 3 months into the year and have already found over $1,000 in savings!
