Frugal Friday – Diva Cup

I am compiling a list of 52 ways to be frugal or save money in 2017. The plan is to post one each week on Friday. Most, if not all, of these tips will be things that we actually do. However, if there is an idea that you want me to share let me know!

Tip #4 – Diva Cup

OK ladies, we all have to deal with a monthly cycle. No one likes it but it is a way of life. Unfortunately not only is it often uncomfortable, it can also be expensive!

One way to save money is by using a menstrual cup instead of tampons or pads. I have personally been using the Diva Cup for a year and am SO glad that I tried it! Not only is it better for you (no perfumes, dyes, irritation) it is also better for the environment (it is reusable for years!) If you have questions, read the reviews, there is a lot of information there!

Since this post is about saving money lets get to the math –

One box of tampons is $8 and we’ll say that it lasts you 2 months. That is $48 each year. The Diva Cup costs $25 and is reusable. In one year you would save $23! I realize that every woman is different in the amount f product they need so this is just an approximation 😉

Running total of money saved:

Napkins – $18

Dryer Balls – $72

Cleaning Cloths – $84

Diva Cup – $23

Total amount saved = $197
